Just watched Wattstax this morning. Now I'm on LastFM listening to the Bar-Kays, Rufus Thomas, and all this other great music that I've never given enough time to. 70's funk / soul / r&b.... I'll be hanging around here for a while. GREAT film - such a great historical document, with all those great artists... What else on DVD captures that era? I want more!

Thanks Gonzo - I had no idea this existed. I hit Netflix, and it'll be here tomorrow.
Great clip!
Yeah - one of my favorite music movies of all time! Let me know what you think when you watch it.

Yeah, it definitely gives you an appreciation for the label. And I love that the documentary also has this social commentary aspect to it.
I can't think of any similar films off the top of my head. If something strikes me, you'll be the first to know!
